Sivaenah celebrated her 7th birthday with her friends in Room 15 today. Her wonderful whanau surprised us with a Strawberry birthday cake just before lunch. We all enjoyed celebrating with Sivaenah (and eating the cake too!!) Mrs Belt took some photos to share with the class.

Don't forget to look at our individual blogs
This week has been a busy one in Room 15 with testing which we have almost completed. We have been working on posting to our blogs and are focusing on writing a descriptive sentence and having a great picture to match.
Mrs Belt has selected a few to highlight here on our Class Blog, but you can click on the learners names down the right hand side to view more of our work. We really love it if you leave us a comment and will share these as a whole class.

Our first News movie for 2016
Today Room 15 are the stars of the news! Our first movie came about because Mrs Belt played some music while we were eating fruit last week and introduces the learners of Room 15. We are also able to showcase some of the great Hyperstudio artwork that has so far been created this year!
We hope you enjoy our first movie and we can't wait for later in the term when we are featured again.

Rain Rain Go Away :)
It's always hard when it rains at lunchtime and we can't get outside to enjoy the sunshine and run around with our friends. Today was one of those days where we had to spend the majority of our lunch hour inside!
We were well supported by our Rainy Day Monitors from the Senior classes and enjoyed drawing, blocks and books! Mrs Belt really like the collaborative play she saw happening in the classroom today.

Meet the Teacher 2016
It was great to meet so many parents and whanau yesterday afternoon and evening at the Pt England School 'Meet the Teacher' day. I look forward to working with you all during 2016.
For any parents or whanau who were unable to attend yesterday, I'd love to meet you! Feel free to pop into the classroom before or after school or contact me to make an alternative time.
Also a huge congratulations to the learners of Room 15 who have embraced the "Reading at Home Challenge" and are well underway to earning their first prize - you are all superstars!

Our first Creative Space and Maker Space sessions
Room 15 goes to Creative Space and Maker Space on a Friday afternoon. Our learners were particularly excited to attend the first session today. Each week we rotate, so half the class visits Maker Space one week and then Creative Space the next.
Mrs Belt popped in to see how our afternoon was going and to take a few photos of what we were doing. The group in Maker Space really enjoyed planting and we're looking forward to watching the seeds grow over the coming weeks.
