Harold & the Life Ed caravan

Today Room 15 had our first visit to Harold in the Life Education caravan.  We really enjoyed spending time with Lynn and learning about which foods were healthy for our body.  Harold had a special alien friend who we met for the first time today.

We can't wait for our second visit with Harold in just over a week.

Welcome to Term 3

It was great to see everyone back in Room 15 today and we had fun at the Immersion Assembly.  This term we will be learning about the Olympics, seeing what happens in Rio as well as exploring some of the history of the Olympics.

Towards the end of the term, Room 15 will be competing with other classes in Team 3 in a quiz competition to see how much we have learnt.

Also this term, we will be filming for the Film Festival, training for and competing in the Cross Country as well as enjoying some lessons with Harold the Giraffe in the Life Education Caravan.  We are also looking forward to learning the poi and rakau with Whaea Saff during our Te Reo Maori lessons.  Today she introduced us to this and we are all looking forward to getting started next week.

What a fun term of learning we have - we look forward to sharing some of the highlights with our blog readers.

Exploring the Art Gallery

Today it was Room 15's turn to explore the Art Gallery.  The Pt England School Hall has been transformed, with lights and music adding to the ambience of our gallery.  We explored the gallery with our friends from Room 8.  We really enjoyed seeing our art displayed, sharing it with our buddy from Room 8 and seeing what they, and the rest of the school had presented.  Mr J did an amazing job in creating the gallery!  Check out a few images from our visit today:

Room 15 trip to Te Tuhi

Today Room 15 had a great time visiting Te Tuhi.  We completed a great piece of geometric art and also had time to explore the gallery.  Thanks to our great parent helps - we can't have trips without your support!  Here are a few photos from our trip, and the learners have shared more of these photos on their individual blogs.

Mrs Clarke shares some special friends

Over the last two weeks Mrs Clarke has brought some special friends to Room 15 to help illustrate the stories she is sharing with us.

Some of the wonderful learners in Room 15 helped tell the story and got to hug the special friends.  It was great to see us get into character with our puppets and friends.  With only two more weeks of school left, we are looking forward to seeing what Mrs Clarke brings to share this week!

Wig Wednesday in Room 15

Room 15 turned out in force to support Wig Wednesday with all learners wearing mufti and/or wigs to school.  It sure made for a colourful classroom.  Thanks to all whanau for supporting this great cause!

Mrs Belt took this picture of us all at the beginning of the day!

Happy Birthday Senitila

Today was Senitila's 8th birthday and to celebrate her special day her whanau brought in a beautiful cake, chocolate milk and pizza to share for morning tea.

After we sang Happy Birthday, Senitila helped us hand out the cake and pizza.  The cake was so big that we were able to have a second piece for lunch!

A huge thank you to Senitila's whanau for providing such a wonderful treat for us to share today.
