Shades and Tones
Today in MakerSpace with Miss Sadler, Room 15 are learning about tones and shades. Mrs Belt popped in and took some photos of the great learning that was going on. She was most impressed at how the learners were mixing their tones and keeping their brush clean with just the minimum amount of water!
We are looking forward to putting these tones and shades to use again later this term for our artwork which will be displayed in the school wide art exhibition!

Magical Art Adventure
Today Team 3 joined together for a Magical Art Adventure with learners moving between teachers and experiencing different arty endeavours.
Those learners that came to Room 15 were creating with collage and together, brick by brick, we completed a house. You can see our creation on the wall outside Room 15 or have a look at this slideshow.
Ask your tamariki which activities they did today? There were eight different ones!

PENN - Room 15 Golf
Today, Room 15 showcase their golfing skills for our PENN episode. We are really enjoying our Snag Golf time but lately we have noticed that our golf balls are disappearing? Where have they been going? Luckily some super secret filming has uncovered the culprits. We hope you enjoy our movie!

Some great acting today for CRE
This afternoon we enjoyed our time with Mrs Clarke and some of Room 15 helped by being actors. Mrs Clarke had bought costumes and four lucky learners helped us learn about miracles - when something really amazing happens that we just can't explain.
Everyone in the class had a part in the play and we all really enjoyed our session! Thanks Mrs Clarke for making learning fun!

Amazing artists
Our school wide topic "As i see it" is well underway in Room 15. Last week we split into two groups to work on different art activities. The first activity used pastels to create a piece of artwork inspired by iLuminate - the wonderful dance group that performed at Pt England earlier in the week. The second activity was a collaborative castle creating activity, asking learners to work in pairs or small groups to design their own castle. We will continue this art this week and then Mrs Belt will display it in our classroom for whanau to check out! Here are some photos from our first session (note - some learners are wearing art shirts as pastels on school uniforms is very hard to remove!)
"Golfing" around
Kiwisport this term for Room 15 is golf for the first five weeks. We had our first session late last week and all learners really enjoyed learning the basic skills.
We were practicing our aim and learning about hard and soft to begin with, before we starting using the club. It was important that our feet were pointing towards the board and our hands were together on the club to make the shot accurate as we aimed for our target. We are looking forward to our next session!

Mixing Colours in MakerSpace
In our first week of MakerSpace, Room 15 enjoyed learning about the colour wheel and how to mix two colours together to create a new colour. Mrs Belt popped in and took some photos of us hard at work.
We are looking forward to our next session!
Meanwhile, over in Creative Space, the other half of Room 15 were beginning to create their Dream Bedroom using Hyperstudio.
We are looking forward to our next session!
